The Waterberg Academy

Brighter Start aims …

To discover children who have good academic abilities and to find sponsors for them to attend the Waterberg Academy.  This enables them to progress to higher levels of academic achievement and further education.

The school

Waterberg Academy is a new, independent school for a new, innovative generation. Founded in 2003, it is situated in the heart of the UNESCO Waterberg Biosphere Reserve in the small town of Vaalwater (Mabatlane), Limpopo, South Africa. Born out of a desire to take the best from traditional schooling, and combine this with critical elements that are sometimes overlooked, it is committed to an education informed by environmental, social and economic responsibility.

The children

Brighter Start currently helps to contribute to a bursary fund for four children.  For these children attending the Academy is an amazing opportunity and we hope to support many more children over the coming years.

How you can help

The school has established a bursary fund and is continually seeking out donors who wish to make a difference. The monies raised are added to the fund, and worthy recipients are sourced and offered the opportunity of attending the school as a full-time student.
